Your personal KPI dashboard

Replace vague activity with a handful of meaningful measures that show whether your work is creating impact.

Most knowledge workers have no clear idea what their metrics are. Performance review season then becomes an exercise in reconstructing what happened and why it mattered.

A personal KPI measures output or impact, can be tracked without heroic effort, and would matter to your manager in a performance conversation. Ask: what does excellent look like in my role?

Start with five to seven measures. Track a baseline, current value, trend, and the most recent meaningful change. Your dashboard can live in your AI headquarters and be updated when something meaningful happens.

A dashboard that exists is infinitely more useful than a perfect one you have not built. Start with two metrics and add from there.

This is part of the Your AI Chief of Staff series, a practical guide to building a personal operating system for knowledge work.
